Outreach Specialist

Bayou City Staffing, LLC is now hiring Outreach Specialists to be part of a team serving public-facing clients and communities across the Greater Houston region. Our growing team of Outreach Specialists will be dispatched across the region to interact with members of the public in order to collect information and convey messaging related to important issues affecting our communities. Specialists may be asked to attend meetings, canvass neighborhoods and attend and assist with special events. Bayou City Staffing’s clients cover a variety of industries ranging from health care to public safety to County and City services. Specialists act as representatives for clients, meeting with diverse people and local leaders from across the region. Specialists may work full- or part-time, and hours may vary based on projects and client programs. Specialists will spend a significant amount of time working in the field and should be comfortable with self-directed work and able to walk for several hours (previous canvassing experience is a plus).

Requirements:

Applicant must be fluent in English (fluency in Spanish is a plus) with the ability to communicate with diverse populations. Applicant should be friendly and outgoing with a positive attitude. Must be self-motivated, comfortable talking to new people, able to work alone or within a team, and be a fast learner. Applicant must have reliable transportation and a smartphone. Applicant must also be authorized to work in the United States.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Attend civic and local organization meetings, often in the evenings and on weekends.

·       Have a comfort-level conveying messaging door-to-door.

·       Excellent note taking and basic computer skills for reporting on activities and events.

·       Providing feedback on interactions and meetings to team leaders and other assigned supervisors.

·       Interacting with members of the public in a friendly and professional manner
